Pizzazzerie | Web + Blog
One of the most daunting tasks in web design is improving upon a site that already looks very sharp. This was precisely our challenge in redesigning the homepage for Pizzazzerie.com. The original design was created by Pizzazzerie Editor and Stylist extraordinaire Courtney Dial, in partnership with the talented crew at Proof Branding, and it did an excellent job of showcasing the latest blog posts as well as promoting the four main resource guides featured on the site.
ORIGINAL SITE:
With the new design, however, we sought to make the homepage a major content hub and also worked to facilitate site-wide navigation with an intuitive set of menus – one for shopping and resource guides, and another for internal content navigation and general site information. We also developed a custom image slider that displays the five most recent posts in the named categories below, so from the moment you visit the site you’ll see the latest in parties, projects, holiday celebrations and so much more. With an expansive sidebar of ongoing content visitors will find that giveaways and sales are hard to miss, while featured site sponsors are easy to see.
REDESIGNED SITE:
Two of my favorite new features are the site search that is now located in the top of the header section and the integrated newsletter sign up in the sidebar. If you haven’t joined the Pizzazzerie mailing list then head over to check out the whole new look and enter your email while you’re at it!
I’d also like to extend special gratitude to programmer Amber Weinberg for her outstanding development work on this incredible WordPress.org site. Many thanks!
