The Family Place | Logo
Once in a great while a project will come alongĀ and leave a little piece of itself with everyone who touches it. Such is the case with our work for The Family Place. This incredible organization supports the growth of parent-child relationships from every conceivable angle, and is run with such warmth and care that it truly captures the essence of a family.
Our challenge in re-designing the existing logo for The Family Place was to capture their commitment to holistically nurturing parents and children throughout the Upper Valley. Perfectly nested in small town Norwich, the expanding center from which this organization operates lies at the heart of the Green Mountains, thus influencing the choice of color in the final design. In order to establish a sense of place without misrepresenting the center as a housing shelter, we incorporated a native Vermont Maple tree, as well as the curved horizon of a rolling hill. Finally, we added the silhouette of a parent and child to convey the importance of relationship building that is at the heart of the center’s work.
Below is the original logo, followed by our recent redesign. Fortunately, this is only the first element in a long series of corporate updates for The Family Place – soon to include social media, an annual report and a brand new website! We’ll be sure to post the finished pieces as they’re completed, but for now please enjoy the before and after logos….
